The roots of Beaulieu Vineyard were firmly planted in Napa Valley by Frenchman Georges de Latour, a native of Bordeaux, in 1900. Within a few years he purchased 128 acres of prime vineyard land adjacent to his home in Rutherford, then later bought more land near Oakville. Today these vineyards, which are still called BV #1 and BV #2, are at the heart of Beaulieu Vineyards production of Private Reserve and Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon.
