Grgich Hills Cellar
Violet Grgich was born in Napa Valley, California and from an early age accompanied her father, Miljenko "Mike" Grgich, in his winemaking and vineyard duties. Since the establishment of Grgich Hills Cellar in 1977, she worked every summer in the winery, doing everything from bottling line work to laboratory analysis and tasting room.
Attending the University of California at Davis, Violet earned a Bachelor of Arts in music while completing classes in biology, chemistry and oenology. Upon graduation, she returned to Grgich Hills to continue her cellar and laboratory work, while also schooling herself in the daily operations of the winery.
