The colour has retained all its youthful intensity. Very deep, almost black. Although fairly closed-in at this stage, the bouquet is quite concentrated, with hints of spice, chocolate, and coffee. Black fruit aromas and the freshness of perfectly ripe grapes are released after aeration. Very well-balanced and straightforward on the palate. Mouth-coating tannins of superb quality. The exceedingly long aftertaste (thanks to the success of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot in this vintage) highlights the elegance of a great Palmer that is faithful to its terroir.
